What is infantile colic?
A self limiting condition which is defined as repeated episodes of excessive and inconsolable crying in an infant.
Crying for more than 3 hours a day, 3 days a week for at least 1 week
When does it occur?

What is often recommended (but no proven benefit)?
Gripe water
If severe and persistent, what may it be due to?
Cows milk protein allergy - consider a trial of a protein hydrolysate formula (if symptoms improve, continue with this)
What other signs are there of colic (other than crying)?
Hard to soothe/ settle baby Clench fists Red in face Knees up to tummy or arch back Tummy rumbles or very windy
Should parents keep feeding the baby as normal?
Yes
What advice can be given?
Hold baby when they cry a lot
Upright during feeding to stop swallowing air
Wind baby after feeds
Warm bath
