what should you asses in gait
inspect from the front, back and side
what should you asses in arms
asses shoulders: place hands behind head and behind back
elbows: flexion, extension. pronation, supination
wrists: extension, flexion
hands: ability to make a fist, grip strength, pinch grip, MCPJ tenderness
what should you asses in spine
cervical spine: flexion, extension, lateral flexion, rotation
thoracic spine: rotation
Lumbar spine: flexion and lateral flexion
what should you assess in legs
hips: flexion, internal and external rotation
knees: flexion and extension
examine for knee joint effusion
ankles : dorsiflexion and plantar flexion
feet:look at soles of feet and feel for joint tenderness
what should you do in the introduction
ask about pain and ensure adequate exposure
