Arterial supply of the gall bladder?
Coeliac trunk - hepatic artery proper - cystic artery
Venous drainage of the gall bladder?
Cystic vein into the portal vein
Innervation of the gall bladder?
Sympathetic and sensory - celiac plexus
Parasympathetic - vagus nerve
Which branch of the autonomic nervous system causes the gall bladder to contract?
Parasympathetic
Is the pancreas peritoneal or retroperitoneal?
Retroperitoneal except for the tail
Where is the pancreas located?
In the epigastrium and left hypochondrium regions
What are the sections of the pancreas called?
Head - fits in curve of duodenum
Uncinate process - projection arising from lower part of the head
Neck - over lies superior mesenteric vessels
Body - crosses midline of human body, behind the stomach
Tail - near hilum of spleen
What is the tail of the pancreas contained in?
The splenorenal ligament along with splenic vessels
Structure of the exocrine pancreas?
Exocrine compartment is a serous gland Made up of berry-like cells - acini Connected by intercalated ducts These drain into interlobular ducts Into the pancreatic duct which runs the length of the pancreas
