Q

Becker- Results!

A

1- Positive correlation between mothers beliefs and compliance. (Use study In answer)
2- Correlation with seriousness of asthma and compliance.

Q

Rotter- Results?

A

.pps who felt they had control of the situation were more likely to show behaviours of being able to cope with potential threats, compared to ones that thought it was due to chance or non-controllable forces.

Q

What were the first two parts to Bandura’s procedure?

Q

What was the second part of Bandura’s procedure?

A

Desensitisation: under controlled conditions, pps first looked at pictures of snakes.
Once arousal levels had fallen they were out in the same room as them.
Eventually they could handle the snakes.
Finally their fear and coping arousal was measured again.

16
Q

What are 2 conclusions in Bandura’s study?

A
  1. Desensitisation works, the study supports self-efficacy as activities led to a change in perception.
  2. Also desensitisation comes from associating the snakes with nothing happening (classical conditioning)
