G-3 ICI Flashcards
- Pre-assembling footing forms- outside corner
Footing ladders are pre-built while the excavation is being dug and set to one side for quick installation. Positioned over the building corners.
- Types of footing forms securely weighted down
Tapered Pier footings
- On a pile locate the foot
Check phone (go to page 5)
- Pile type that rely on side pressure to carry a load
Friction piles
- Case pile type “x”
Take pic of case piles pg.20 and review differences
- Components of insulated concrete forms
Patented insulated concrete forming systems usually consist of panels, ties, corner, anchor brackets, and metal tracks. Products and installation may vary from one manufacturer to another.
- Foundation walls for flat insulating or (insulateting) concrete
ICF Foundation walls that fall under part 9 of the BCBC do not require reinforcement.
- Flat insulating concrete form foundation walls required
Maximum floor to height is 3m (9’10).
The building is no more than two storeys in height and contains only one dwelling unit .
The building location is in seismic spectral response acceleration Sa (2.0) zone of not more then 0.4
- Important why are the outside corners are made stronger
- Erecting form panels, what is done first
Should be oiled or sealed before use to prevent swelling when concrete is placed.
- Vertical formwork material quantity calc
contact area?!?!?
- The walls forming sheathing panels joints- inside+ outside
edges and ties and joist must align on inside and outside for the ties
- Advantage of having all side of column same size
the forms are interchangable
- Gang form wall panels are lifted up and reset
Gang form panels have lifting rings attached to the top of the strong-backs. the crane used a spreader bar to ensure that there are no lateral forces acting on the strong backs.
- How to control gang forms panels when they are framed
Having a crane on site allows the larger forms to be built and moved from place to place
