Center tank pb positions: On, Off, Fault
On - pump runs in manual mode if Mode Sel is set to Manual, else it is in Auto mode, then it is automatically controlled
Off - pump is off and Off in white
Fault - in amber, with ECAM when the pump delivery pressure drops
L/R TK Pumps pb: On, Off, Fault
On - Pump is on but feeds only when the center tank pumps delivery drops below a certain threshold. Lights out
Off - Pump is off and button OFF illuminates in white
Fault - Amber with ECAM when pump delivery pressure drops. No Fault appears when pump is in the OFF position
What is the Mode Sel switch on the Fuel panel used for? Auto, Man, Fault
To run the center tank fuel pumps in either manual or automatic mode.
Auto - center tanks are controlled automatically.
- Run at engine start for two mins.
- Run if the slats are retracted
- Stop after 5 mins after center tank low level is reached
Man - manual control by the crew
Fault - in amber when the center tanks have more than 550 lbs and either inner tank has less than 11,000 lbs of fuel
What is the X Feed switch on the Fuel panel used for?
Used to connect or isolate the left and right sides of the fuel system
What are the positions on the X Feed pb? On, Open, Off
On - the valve opens and the On white color lights up
Open - in green, the cross feed valve is fully open
Off - lights out, valve is closed
During the cockpit prep, switching on the Man pb on the fuel panel has what consequence on the ground during refuelling? What to do to prevent this?
Possibility of fuel spillage
Set fuel mode to Auto (lights out)
