Anti Ice Flashcards
Wing anti ice pb: Off, On, Fault
Off Lights out
the wing anti ice valves close
On
A. In blue with an ECAM Memo: Wing A. Ice
B. Wing anti ice valves open if there is pneumatic supply available
C. On the ground, the valves open for a 30 sec test only and then the valves will close. To prevent overheating of the slats
D. Wing anti ice valves close with a loss of electrical power
E. Close on the ground when a leak is detected
F. When selected, N1 limit reduced and N1 idle is increased
Fault (in amber)
A. Discrepancy with the position of the anti ice valve to the actual pb setting
B. Low pressure is detected
C. In transit, when the valves are opening or closing
Eng 1 & 2 pb: Off, On, Fault
Off
Eng Anti ice valves are closed
On
- In Blue, ECAM Memo displays ENG A. ICE
- Anti ice valves open if bleed air is available from the engines and close automatically if bleed air is not available
- If there is an electrical failure, the anti ice valves remain open
- When selected, N1 limit reduced and N1 idle is increased
Fault
- In amber, with ECAM caution if position of the anti ice valves disagree with the ENG pb selection
- Lights in amber during valve transit
Probe/Window Heat pb: Auto, On
Auto
Probes and windows are heated automatically in flight or on the ground (except TAT probes) as long as one engine is running
On
In blue, switches the probes and window heating to stay permanently on
