How many fire bottles does the APU have and how is it activated on the ground and in flight?
- 1 bottle
- On the ground: automatically
- Via FIRE panel squib pb
When does the Eng and APU Fire pb illuminate in red? 4
- Both A and B send a Fire signal or
- One loop sends a fire signal and the other loop has failed or
- Breaks occur on both loops with in 5 seconds of each other or
- A test is performed on the Fire Panel
When does the SQUIB pb turn white and DISH in amber occur?
SQUIB - in white when the crew press the Eng 1 or 2 Fire or APU Fire pb
DISH - comes in amber when the corresponding fire bottle has lost pressure
In a fire situation with the engine or APU, the Fire pb illuminates in red. When does it stop illuminating?
When the the fire stops, the light goes off
What happens when the ENG 1/2 Fire Test pb is pressed? 5
- CRC - continuous repetitive chime
- Master Warning flash red
- ENG FIRE appear on ECAM
- On the FIRE Panel:
A. ENG 1/2 Fire pb in red
B. Squib lights in white
C. DISCH in amber - Eng Master panel - Fire lights on red on the corresponding engine
What happens when the APU fire Test pb is pushed? 4
- CRC - continuous repetitive chime
- Master Warning flash red
- APU FIRE appear on ECAM
- On the FIRE Panel:
A. APU fire pb in red
B. Squib in white
C. Discharge in amber
If the Engine or APU test pb is pressed with battery only as it’s power source then we can expect: 3
- Squib / discharge lights come on
- Red APU Fire pb comes on partially
- No CRC and No ECAM
What does pushing the guarded ENG 1/2 pb do? 5
- Silences the aural warning
- Arms the squibs
- Cuts off FADEC power supply
- Deactivates the IDG
- Closes:
A. The low pressure fuel valve
B. The hydraulic fire shut off valve
C. Engine bleed valve
D. Pack flow control valve
What happens when the APU fire pb is pushed? 5
- Silences the aural warning
- Arms the squib
- Shuts down the APU
- Deactivates the APU generator
- Closes:
A. Low pressure valve
B. The APU fuel pump
C. The APU bleed valve
D. The X bleed valve
