Cabin Pressurization Panel Flashcards
What is the Manual V/S CTL lever on the Cabin Press panel? UP, DN
When the Model Sel pb is selected to manual, a third system, a motorized controlled motor, used for controlling the position of the outflow valve in the event of a dual CPC failure
UP - outflow valve opens
DN - outflow valve closes
When controlling the outflow valve manualy, the target V/S for a climb and descent are:
Climbing at 500ft/min, descending at 300ft/min
Mode Sel pb Auto, Man, Fault
Auto
- Lights out
- The outflow valve is controlled automatically.
- The two CPC switch after each touch down
- The 2 CPC can be switched manually by setting the Mode Sel to MAN for 10 seconds then back to auto
MAN white
The crew can manually control the outflow valve using the MAN V/S CTL toggle
Fault
Appears in amber with ECAM only if both CPC computers are faulty
LDG ELEV knob
Auto
The pressurization system takes elevation data from the FMGS
Numbered postions
- Labeled from -2 (-2,000ft) to 14 (14,000ft)
- To gain manual control, pull the knob then turn
- Data is no longer taken from the FMGS but is manually set by the crew as is the case in a dual FMGC failure
Ditching guarded pb Normal, On, Caution
Normal
System functions normally
On
A close signal is sent to the
1. Outflow valve
2. Ram air inlet
3. Avionics ventilation inlet and extract valves
4. Pack flow control valves
5. Note: The outflow valve will not close automatically if it is manually controlled. It must be set full DN by the crew
Caution!
If pressed on the ground, with the low pressure ground cart connected and all the doors closed, differential pressure will build up
