What do the ELAC 1(2) buttons do in the OFF position? OFF then ON? ON?
Off - ELAC is switched off
On: (lights out) A. Resets the computer if turned off then on B. Normal ELAC functions 1. Normal Pitch / Roll 2. Alternate Pitch 3. Direct Pitch / Roll 4. Abnormal Attitude 5. Aileron Droop 6. Intake of autopilot orders
What does it mean when the ELAC 1(2) Fault light is illuminated in amber? When does the amber go off?
- A failure is detected or
- Amber comes up for 8 seconds during an ELAC power up test
Light goes away when either:
- The button is switched off or
- Test is successful
What happens when the SEC 1(2)(3) are in the OFF position? Off then on? On?
OFF - Not active Off then On - Switching the button Off then On resets the computer On: 1. Normal roll via spoiler control 2. Alternate pitch (SEC 1 and 2 only) 3. Direct pitch (SEC 1 and 2 only) 4. Direct roll 5. Abnormal attitude 6. Speed breaks / ground spoilers
What happens when the SEC’s amber FAULT light is illuminated? When does the amber light go off?
- A failure is detected

OFF - not active
Off then On - switching the button Off then On resets the computer

- Normal roll with turn coordination + dutch roll damping
- Rudder trim and Rudder travel limit
- Alternate yaw
