25
Q

What materials shall not be used for fuel piping systems

A

GALVANIZED materials- copper alloys, cadmium plating, or plastic material

26
Q

2 methods for removing particulates from fuel

A
  1. wait 2 hours to allow solids to settle before withdrawing from tanks
  2. recirculate through filters and separators
27
Q

Icing inhibitor

A

The normal level of FSII in the
fuel is 0.07 to 0.15% by volume. The only material currently authorized for use is
Di-Ethylene Glycol Monomethyl Ether (DiEGME).
b. FSII lowers the freezing point of free water in the fuel of the aircraft

it also restricts bacterial growth

CGTO PG 85-00-170-A

29
Q

Who can grant waiver for hot refueling when an air station cannot meet the PG-170 guidelines

A

CG-41

CGTO PG 85-00-170-A p. 8-8 NOTE

A

.10-.15%

below .07 CO must be notified. .03% is the minimum allowed for CG aircraft
