Fuel Flashcards
What is the purpose of the crossfeed valve?
Allows any fuel tank to supply any engine
What closes both Spar Fuel SOV and the Engine Fuel SOV?
Start lever to cutoff, or
Fire lever pulled
What does an ENG VALVE CLOSED (bright blue) light indicate? When do you expect to see it?
Valve disagreement
Anytime the valve is being opened or closed, it would be normal to momentarily see this
Location of refueling panel
Leading edge of right wing, outboard of #2 engine
What does the IMBAL (amber) alert mean?
1,000 lbs imbalance between main tanks
What is the indication that the nitrogen generator system (NGS) is not operating?
Amber light (inoperative)
What does the CONFIG (amber) alert display?
Center tank fuel is greater than 1,600 lbs, and
Both CTR FUEL PUMP switches are OFF, and
Either engine running
What does the LOW (amber) fuel alert indicate?
Main tank fuel is less than 2,000 lbs for > 30 sec
With less than full main fuel tanks, how much fuel can be in the center tank?
1,000 lbs
Center tank fuel pump limitations on the ground
Must be at least 1,000 lbs in the center tank to use the pumps on the ground, and
Someone must be in the flight deck to monitor the low pressure lights
Why is center tank fuel burned first with all pumps operating?
Center tank fuel pumps produce higher output pressure
Will the LOW PRESSURE light (amber) illuminate if a main tank FUEL PUMP switch is placed to OFF?
Yes, because these fuel pumps are normally on
With the center tank fuel pump switches ON, what does a CTR PUMP LOW PRESSURE light (amber) indicate? Will the pump shut off?
Low output pressure of respective center tank fuel pump
After 15 seconds of steady illumination, the pump will shut off
[Master caution illuminates after 10 seconds of steady low pressure illumination]
What does a crossfeed VALVE OPEN light (bright blue) indicate?
Crossfeed valve is not in the commanded position
What can suction feed from the #1 main fuel tank? #2 main fuel tank?
1 engine can suction feed from #1 tank
