Fuel Flashcards
How is fueling and defueling accomplished?
At the single-point pressure fueling station in the right wing
What is the purpose of the surge tanks?
Outboard on each wing to accommodate overfill and thermal expasion
What is the purpose of the Fuel Cross feed valve?
Either engine can be fed from either main tank or Left and right sides isolated
With all pumps operating, which tank fuel is burned first?
What ensures this tank fuel is used before other tanks?
What ensures this tank fuel is used before other tanks?
The Center Tank Pumps have a higher output pressure.
Can the APU suction feed fuel? From which tank?
Main Tank #1
What causes the Center Tank Fuel Scavenge Jet Pump to activate?
A float valve, when fuel in Main Tank 1 drops below 4500lbs
What is the light logic of the Crossfeed VALVE OPEN light?
Bright blue: valve is in transit or disagrees with the selector position. Dim: valve is open with selector
in open. Extinguished: selector and valve are both closed.
What causes an IMBAL (amber) alert, and where do you see it?
Main Tank Fuel differ >1,000lbs for 60 sec. UPPER DU, amber on Lower quantity side
What causes a CONFIG (amber) alert, and where do you see it?
An Eng is running, Center pumps are off and > 1600lbs in Center Tank. UPPER DU.
What causes a fuel LOW (amber) alert, and where is it indicated?
Respective Main Tank fuel quantity, <2,000lbs for > 30s. UPPER DU.
Where is the Nitrogen Generation System indicator?
Main Wheel well adjacent to the APU Fire Control Panel.
. With the loss of AC powered fuel pumps, how is fuel provided to the engine?
A suction feed line that bypasses the pumps.
What is the logic of the center tank fuel pumps?
a. 10 sec after continuous LOW PRESSURE indicated: FUEL annunciator/ MASTER CAUTION illuminates.
b. 15 sec after continuous LOW PRESSURE indicated, Pump Shuts OFF. When switch is moved to off the
shutoff logic resets
If a fuel quantity indicator fails, how is actual fuel quantity determined?
Fuel measuring sticks. 6 ea Main Tank 4, in the Ctr Tank
