An advanced level certificate for classroom teachers. Given in specific subjects/grade titles. It is continuously valid as long as you complete the required professional development hours on a five year professional development cycle.
You need the TSSLD to do the following:
provide speech-language services to 3-5 year old students and students with disabilities as well as bilingual services in a school or a municipality that serves children with IEPs
Why would you need licensure and TSSLD?
To provide services under an IEP to preschool and school-aged children as well as children with disabilities for private health clinics; to provide bilingual speech and language services (you need the bilingual certification)
