• Mouth is the focus of pleasure
• Successful completion demonstrated by weaning
• Fixation can happen if child has completed oral stage too soon/late
• Late/Soon fixation leads to activities such as :smoking, vaping, etc.

• Successful completion of stage can be shown by being able to use proper toilet training techniques

• If not potty trained by age of 3, can lead to anal character
