FOM Flashcards
Planned Arrival Fuel Target
B757/767
No Alternate: 75 mins
W/ Alternate: 60 mins + ALTN
F/O restrictions below 100 hrs on type
• Airport is not a special PIC qualification airport.
• RVR more than 4000 feet (1200m) or
visibility more than 3/4 mile (1200m).
• Maximum crosswind component - 15 kts.
• Braking action good or better.
• No standing water, snow, slush or similar
conditions that may adversely affect aircraft
performance or controllability.
• No windshear advisories or reports.
Stabilized Approach Criteria
1000 FEET HAT:
• Aircraft is in the landing configuration and the Landing Checklist has been completed
• Airspeed is within +20 or -5 knots of Vapp
• Sink rate is 1000 feet per minute or less*
• Aircraft is on a vertical path that will result in landing within the TDZ
500 FEET HAT:
• Airspeed is within 5 knots of Vapp
• Engine thrust is stabilized at a level that results in target speed
200 FEET HAT
• Aircraft is aligned with the lateral confines of the runway
Mandatory Go-Around during IMC approach
- On an ILS or localizer approach, localizer or glideslope deviation greater than 1 dot
- Using LNAV/NAV and raw data monitoring is not required, cross track error greater than
or equal to 0.3 miles - If raw data monitoring required:
– On a VOR approach, course deviation greater than 5° or 1 dot
– On an NDB approach, course deviation greater than 5° - Using VNAV/PROFILE and established on path, vertical deviation greater than +100/-50 feet
Single Engine Taxi restrictions
Single engine taxi may NOT be conducted under the following conditions:
• Aircraft to be deiced
• Frozen precipitation (ice, snow, freezing rain) falling
• Ramp and/or taxiway slippery or contaminated
• Tight maneuvering required
• AGB restriction
Items to include in Takeoff Briefing
The takeoff briefing includes:
- Takeoff flap setting
- Takeoff thrust setting
- Takeoff runway
- ATC clearance including altitude, lateral and vertical modes
- Transition altitude
- EFPs
- Updates to the CRM/safety briefing as needed
Onboard items required before airplane can depart
• Onboard items required before aircraft may depart:
o FBP (Flight Briefing Package)
o Aircraft logbook
o Load manifest (weight and balance):
− ELM: primary
− Paper Load Manifest (PLM): backup
o Notice to Captain (NOTOC), if required due to HAZMAT onboard
o Jumpseat passes for all Additional Crew Members (ACMs)
o Fuel slip, if available
When is the use of Assumed takeoff thrust not authorized
- Runway is contaminated with standing water, ice, slush or snow
- Windshear conditions are suspected
- Prohibited by MEL/CDL
When must TO thrust be used?
o Inoperative anti-skid o Deactivated brake o Inoperative EPR/N1 gauge o Suspected windshear conditions o Landing gear extended dispatch o MEL/CDL requires the use of TO thrust
