Q

ELM independent/joint verification

A

Independently verify:

  • Flight number
  • Date
  • City pair
  • Tail number
  • Number of ACMs (Additional Crew Members/Jumpseaters)
  • Note the Notice to Captain (NOTOC) requirement
  • Compare FOB ENT with totalizer fuel for reasonable variance

Jointly verify:

  • CAPT reads ZFW aloud from ELM
  • F/O echoes ZFW, enters in FMC, then verbalizes aircraft gross weight
  • Captain verifies reasonability of gross weight:
    − (ELM) TOGW + TAXI > (FMC) GR WT (302.0 + 1.0 > 302.9)
  • Crew compares ETOW (from flight plan) to TOGW (from ELM)

Q

Conditions that do not require the crew to perform GPWS Warning/Caution CFIT Maneuver

A

• The Alert occurs during day VMC with terrain and obstacles clearly in sight, and
• The flight crew can IMMEDIATELY and UNEQUIVOCALLY determine that terrain/obstacle
