Fitt Flashcards
Specificity
Matching training to the requirments of an activity
Progressive overload
It means working at a higher range of intensity than the minimum threshhold of training
Individual needs
When planning a PEP the needs of the athlete must come first, using another persons programme would not work as they will have different starting points and needs
Fitt
The FITT principle enables you to plan an exercise programme to get the most out of it as safely as possible
▪ Frequency (how often) ▪ Intensity (how hard)
▪ Time (how long)
▪ Type (method)
▪ The FITT principle works with the principle of progressive overload because, as you get fitter, you can more often, at a higher intensity and for longer at a given activity.
Recovery
The time you give your body to recover
Rest
The time you leave your body to relax without training
Overtraining
Training wothout giving your body enough time to rest
Reversability
When you dont train muscles enough so they lose mass
