Low calcium
low sodium
low glucose
Low potassium (though this would affect the heart more quickly, causing VF)
Treatment for fits
Diazepam 10mg IV or PR

Metastases - lung cancer in men and breast cancer in woman

Histopathology - pink and purple, which is good?
Nuclei - blue
Therefore purple = bad
Pink is good
What might you see on histology of TB in the adrenals?
Necrotising granulomatous cells
Treatment for TB + regime
Rifampicin
Isoniazid
Pyrazinamide
Ethambutol
4 Abx for 2 months
Then 2 Abx for 2 months in case of resistance
If the pt is susceptible to all four, then
OCP + rifampicin
OCP becomes less effective if on rifampicin
Low sodium, high potassium
Addisons
Treatment for Addisons
Prednisolone mg daily (because rifampicin is an enzyme inducer)
Fludrocortisone 100mcg daily
