What are three types of radio traffic?
A
- emergency traffic: firefighter safety (unable to pump water; extreme fire event; etc) [go to alarm for emergency traffic; then to command]
- priority traffic: civilian safety; essential info [go straight to command]
- normal traffic
[then there are maydays: lost/trapped firefighters]

What is the gallonage for 2 1/2 and 1 3/4 per second?
A
- 2 1/2 @ 300 gpm = 5 gal/sec (50gallons / per 10 seconds)
- 1 3/4 @ 185 gpm = 3 gal/sec (30gallons / per 10 seconds)

If I pulled a 2 1/2 how long would it last flowing three different flow rates?
A
- Continuous = 1.5 minutes
- 10/10 flow = 3 minutes
- 10/20 flow = 4.5 minutes

If I pulled a 1 3/4 how long would it last flowing three different flow rates?
A
- Continuous = 2.5 minutes
- 10/10 flow = 5 minutes
- 10/20 flow = 8 minutes

If my first line off is going to be a 2 1/2 what do I tell the crew?
A
- They need to alternate between 10/10 and 10/20 or don’t go interior until I get a water supply
