  1. Intake: intake valve opens and cylinder fills with air
  2. Compression: air is compressed
  3. Expansion: compressed air expands, return energy to engine
  4. Exhaust: piston pushes gasses out the exhaust valve

  1. (2) Compression: the exhaust valve opens near the end of the cycle and gasses are released into the exhaust system instead of being used by the engine

  1. Retarder housing
  2. When auto apply is on, releasing the gas pedal will engage the first level, which is about a third
  3. When the brake is pushed, it engages level two and three as the brakes are pushed
