Federalism
Each colony would keep its own government to run its own colony and then a federal government would look into matters affecting teh whole union.

They had a larger say because they have less rep by pop and could expand the golden age

Defence, currency, navigation ( air and water ) and the power to cancel provincial laws that go beyond provincial power

Education, hospitals, police, courts.

The maritimes met to talk about uniting their colonies, Canad East and West were observing.
The delegates argued for two weeks compromising to reach consensus. Drafted 72 resolutions which were the foundations of a new country and government.

No they were isolated from otehr colonies, they thought it was too small and would be swamped by other colonies, they joined in 1873.

No they had little in common with other colonies and were distant from government. They were interested in tied with Britian. Joined 1949.
