A

They live in the east coast of Canada. On Prince Edward Island and on the coast of New Brunswick and the south coast of Quebec and Nova scotia.

How did mikmaq get their clothing?

A

They used the skins of animals that they killed: deers, moose, caribou and more. Sinew from deer and caribou were used as thread. Both men and women would wear breechclouts and mocassins. Breech clouts were like a long rectangular piece of cloth. Mocassins were a type of shoe.

A

They catch birds, seafood, meat, wild plants, berries and more. They relied on the sea for food a lot.

A

They lived in wigwams made of birch and spruce wood. Wigwams were like tents and they varied varied in height and width depending on the season.

How did the Haudenosaunee get clothing?

A

They made clothes from hides of elk or deer and furs from rabbits and bears. They would wear breechclouts and mocassins. They would smoke the hide for colour. They would add embellishments with wooden/glass beads and porcupine quills. Men wore breechclouts and mocassins. Women wore skirts, ponchos and dresses. Children wore clothing similar to their parents. Babies were swaddled.

How did the Haudenosaunee get food?

A

They did agriculture in fact they were the first farmers in Canada. They had the three sisters: corn bean and squash.

How did the Haudenosaunee get shelter?

A

They lived in long houses made of wood, they were built for big families. They didn’t have any windows and had smoke holes in the roof and supplied ventilation. They each had a clan in each longhouse and the husband would move to the wife’s house.
