Define recombinant DNA.
A
DNA that has been artificially manipulated to combine genes from 2 different sources
- adding new DNA to organism OR
- change DNA that is already there

What are plasmids?
A
extra chromosomal, self replicating. circular pieces of DNA found inside the cell. They are only in prokareyote (bacteria)

What are restriction enzymes?
A
Endonucleases that cut DNA at specific areas. Helps in cutting out the desired DNA pieces in genetic engineering procedure.
