1: preadolescence=no pubic hair, 2: Ages 11-12=hair develops on labia, 3: Ages 12-13=hair becomes darker/curlier and develops over pubis symphysis, 4: Ages 13-14=hair assumes the texture/curl of an adult but does not appear on the thighs, 5: Sexual maturity=hair appears on the inner aspect of thighs

Use the pads of fingers in a rotary motion to note for any enlargement or tenderness
