paper 2
1
Q
what are the different types of feedback?
A
- intrinsic
- extrinsic
- positive
- negative
- knowledge of result
- knowledge of performance
2
Q
describe ‘intrinsic feedback’
A
- is from within the performer
- they understand how the movement feels from feedback from the muscles- spot their own errors
- intrinsic feedback should be developed so the performer is not reliant on others
3
Q
describe ‘extrinsic feedback’
A
- is from outside the performer
- is important as someone watching the skill can observe and explain what needs to be done to correct it
4
Q
describe ‘positive feedback’
A
- being told what was good about your performance or technique
- this is motivating especially for BEGINNERS
5
Q
describe ‘negative feedback’
A
- this is being told what was wrong about your performance or technique
- used by EXPERIENCED performers so they can correct errors as may be demotivating for beginners
6
Q
describe ‘knowledge of results’
A
- focuses on whether your performance got the results you wanted
- they can focus on what needs to be done which can be applied through knowledge of performance
7
Q
describe ‘knowledge of performance’
A
- focuses on the way you carried out the skill or technique
- it is useful for more advanced performers to see what needs to be done to improve technique
8
Q
who should use ‘intrinsic feedback’
A
useful for experienced performers as the skill is well learnt and they know how it should feel
9
Q
who should use ‘extrinsic feedback’
A
used by less experienced performers as they are unlikely to detect their own errors
10
Q
who should use ‘knowledge of results’
A
useful for beginners to see how far away they are from achieving the result they want
