- Shortages meant that women had to wait 24 hours for their rations (only part of a loaf)

  • International women’s day - a peaceful, good-humoured march by female workers.
  • March grew in size and became more political

  • Second day, men joined the strike, then so did soldiers due to the fear of being sent to the front line.

  • Tsar realises he has lost control making one last attempt to return to Petrograd
  • Generals would no longer support him if he chooses to retain power
