If the MCDU Locks Up on ground, what action can resolve this?
Cycle the AP Disconnect switch on the control columns will reset the master FCC
If an MCDU Locks Up in flight, what action can resolve this?
Refer to the Interim Procedure in QRH Non-Alerts ‘Both MCDU’s FAIL TO RESPOND TO INPUTS’
-Record Actions/Responses to assist Boeing/Honeywell
How can a Backdrive condition be identified and differentiated from a Stab Trim Runaway?
A Stab Trim Runaway will continue, A backdrive condition will only last a brief period of time after the release of the trim switches,
How and when can an erroneous stick shaker be activated?
During level off & acceleration to a Mach number, this frozen vane may indicate an AOA high enough to trigger a stick shaker.
RED ZIPPER-Will rapidly accelerate to above current IAS
What could be done if erroneous stick shaker occurs during flight?
- May Descend until Mach values decrease
- Crew find shaker distracting, P-33 & R-33 circuit breakers may be pulled, when zipper shows normal CBs can be reset.
If an Ipad (For example) on the flight deck shows signs of smoke or electrical burning smell, what can be done?
- (If on fire) Extinguish fire - Fire Extinguisher or Water
- Move device out of flight deck
- Cool the device and stop thermal runway, use waste bin covered in water and placed in toilet for monitoring by automatic halon system in waste bin.
When a PSEU Failure occurs, what will display afterTO?
- Vmin Amber Foot & Stick Shaker Zipper speed past V2+10.
- PSEU FAIL (Level 1) at 1000ft AGL

What restriction applies to using the centre tank fuel pumps when the APU is operating?
Do not operate the centre tank fuel with less than 360kg.
If an ‘AUTOBRAKE FAIL’ Level 2 is shown after electrical power up, is maintenance required?
No, the AntiSkid Switch light to OFF then ON will reset the ABS. If alert disappears no further action is required.
What caution is there regarding tailwind with engine starts?
- Greater than 10kts Tailwind requires positive N1 before moving fuel switch to ON
- If tailwind greater than 25kts or if indications of increasing N1 cannot be obtained, Reversers Deployment is required.
When conducting the brake temperature check as part of the config check, above what temperature do charts need to be referenced?
Above 170 degrees refer to the table in the QRH
On touchdown and for some reason spoilers do not deploy, who responsibility is it to deploy them?
Pilot Flying should extend the spoilers.
If L&R Pack Switches are ON when aircraft is left, what issue could result?
If the APU shuts down, the screens will not have cooling airflow and may overheat and shutdown
If a TCAS RA alert is generated, what will happen once the autopilot is disconnected?
The FD Bars will be removed, and only come back once the “Clear of conflict” message is issued.
If TakeOff with Packs OFF is required, when and how does this occur?
Through FMS Entry on TO Page, Packs will shut off at throttle advance and will come on at 3,000ft AGL.
If during start in cold conditions, what must be insured before increasing engine power for taxi?
Ensure all engine parameters are in the normal range (i.e No Caution Boxes on Oil Temp)
If icing conditions exist or are expected after TO, what ice protection should be selected?
Engine Anti-Ice should be selected ON, Airfoil ‘Should’ also be used if conditions warrant. Only a SHOULD not a must.
If engines are at a low power setting, what is the minimum PSI for the ice protection systems?
22psi
At what speed for Main & Nose wheels are at most risk of Hydroplaning

What guidance will WAGS ‘Decreasing Performance’ provide after TO below and above 450ft?
Below 450ft = FD will target a 1.5degree FPA (if this cannot be maintained, will guide to stick shaker AOA)
Above 450ft = FD will allow 0degree or decreasing path.

- Advance throttles to 95% of GA thrust
- Automatic advancement of throttles to 95% of GA thrust, by the AT system
When are predictive windshear alerts inhibited?
Between 100kts until 50ft RA
Are you allowed to take off with a predictive windshear warning, and how can this be quickly differentiated from a reactive warning?
No, predictive warnings alert that windshear is ‘AHEAD’
If ‘GO AROUND WINDSHEAR AHEAD’ is annunciated on approach, is a go-around required?
FCOM states an immediate go-around must be performed.
What are the actions for a windshear encounter?

How long do the Cargo Discharge Agents last for?
- AGENT 1 (6mins) Quick Discharge
- AGENT 2 (2hrs) Slow Discharge
If a HYD pressure alert is displayed, and indications show normal fluid level what could be happening?
It could be a false indication, or could be due to foaming on the affected side.
If you have a HYD problem on the Left side (for example) what considerations are there regarding ground maneouvering?
Nosewheel steering to the right will be restricted, so plan taxi & parking via left hand turns for full control.
If Hydraulic Quantity is decreasing or abnormally high, however no alert, what checklist is used?
