What is the function of the sclera?
White outer layer of the eye, so it is tough and stops damage to the eyeball.
What is the function of the cornea?
Changes the direction of the light so they enter the eye focus on the retina.
What is the function of the iris?
Controls the size of the pupil. Contracts or relaxes to control the amount of light reaching the retina.
What is the function of the ciliary muscles and suspensory ligaments?
Change the shape of the lens to fine focus light on to the retina.
What is the function of the retina?
Has light sensitive cells that send impulses to the optic nerve.
What is the function of the optic nerve?
Carries impulses from the retina to the brain so you can see something.
