The constant movement of water molecules through the xylem from the roots to the leaves

A
A waxy cuticle. The stomata being on the under side of the leaf which protects them for the energy and light from the sun and reduces the time they are open. Wilting, surface are available for water loss is greatly reduced. Stomata closing.
