What temperature do biogas generators work best at?
A
Around 30 degrees. The process is exothermic which means if you put some energy at the beginning and you have a well insulated biogas generator they can work anywhere. This is why they are underground normally.

How is bio gas made?
A
It is formed when bacteria break down plant material or waste products of animals in anaerobic conditions

What are advantages and disadvantages of building the biogas generators underground?
A
An advantage is that they are well insulated so when it gets colder there won’t be as much of an effect. A disadvantage is that it is more expensive then building it on land
