1) cover smear with carbolfuchsin. Steam over boiling water for 5 minutes
2) after slide has cooled, decolorize with acid Alchohol 15 - 20 seconds
3) stop action of acid Alchohol by rinsing
4) counterstain with methylene blue for 1 minute
5) rinse with water
6) blot dry
