CN 1: Do you have a blocked nose?
Avez-vous le nez bouché?
CN 1: What can you smell?
Que sentez-vous? Quelle odeur sentez-vous?
(en offrant différents échantillons)
CN 2: Do you wear glasses?
Portez-vous des lunettes?
CN 2: Snellen Chart (Visual Acuity): Can you close one eye and read as much of this chart as you can?
Échelle de Snellen (acuité visuelle): Pouvez-vous fermer un œil et lire ce tableau jusqu’aux lettres les plus petites possibles?
CN 2: Visual Fields: Look straight ahead, cover one eye and tell me when you can see my finger/hat pin.
Champs visuels: Regardez droit devant vous, cachez un œil et dites-moi quand vous pouvez voir mon doigt / épingle à cheveux.
CN 2: Visual Inattention: Look at my fingers, tell me which one moves.
Inattention visuelle: Regardez mes doigts et dites-moi quel est celui qui bouge.
CN 2: Fundoscopy: Look straight ahead for me, I would like to look into your eyes with this light.
Ophtalmoscopie / fond d’oeil: Regardez droit devant vous, je voudrais examiner le fond de vos yeux avec cette lampe.
CN 3, 4, 6: Keep your head still and follow my finger with your eyes.
Ne bougez pas la tête et suivez mon doigt avec vos yeux.
CN 3, 4, 6: Pupils: I’m just going to have a look at your eyes…
Pupilles: Je vais juste examiner vos yeux…
CN 5: Can you feel this cotton wool/pin?
Pouvez-vous sentir ce coton tige / cette épingle?
CN 5: Does it feel the same on both sides?
Ressentez-vous la même chose des 2 côtés?
CN 5: Can you clench your jaw for me?
Pouvez-vous serrer les mâchoires?
CN 5: If necessary – corneal reflex: I’m just going to touch your eye, this may be unpleasant (sorry!)
Je vais juste toucher votre oeil; cela peut être désagréable, veuillez m’en excuser.
CN 7: Can you raise your eyebrows to the ceiling?
Pouvez-vous lever les sourcils?
CN 7: Shut your eyes tightly, keep them closed as I try to open them.
Fermez bien vos yeux et gardez-les fermés pendant que j’essaie de les ouvrir.
CN 7: Puff out your cheeks for me.
Gonflez vos joues, s’il vous plaît.
CN 7: Show me your teeth.
Montrez-moi vos dents.
(Alternatively ask the patient to copy you…”Can I get you to copy me please?”)
CN 8: Ask the patient if they can hear you.
Demander au patient s’il peut vous entendre : “Est-ce que vous m’entendez?”
CN 9/10: Can you cough for me?
Pouvez-vous tousser, s’il vous plaît?
CN 9/10: Gag Reflex: I’m sorry, this might not feel nice. I’m just going to touch the back of your throat.
Je suis désolé, cela pourrait être désagréable. Je vais toucher le fond de votre gorge…
CN 11: Can you turn your head to the left/right?
Pouvez-vous tourner la tête à gauche / à droite?
CN 12: Assessing for dysarthia: Can you repeat after me – “British Constitution”, “Baby Hippopotamus”, “The Leith police”?
Pouvez-vous répéter après moi … [mots difficiles]
CN 12: Can you stick your tongue out for me?
Pouvez-vous tirer la langue?
CN 12: Waggle it from side to side.
Remuez-la d’un côté à l’autre.
