A disadvantage of this scheme is the loss of agricultural land.the reservoirs have flooded some land causing some farmers to abandon their farmland and move to other areas.it was also very expensive to build the dams and the cost of pumping the water is high so that increases the cost of the agricultural produce.the scheme cost the government 1.6 billion to construct
