Design Fluency

A

make unique designs using 4 straight lines to connect 10 dots.
Basic test: Connect the filled dots.
Inhibition: Connect only the empty dots, without touching the filled ones.
Flexibility: Alternate between connecting filled and empty dots.
The test checks how well you can make designs, control your impulses, and switch between tasks.

Read the color names in black ink
The harder part is when you have to say the ink color (not the word), like saying “blue” when the word “GREEN” is written in blue ink.

Sorting test

A

checks concept formation, abstract thinking, and flexibility. There are two parts:
Free Sorting: The person is given six cards with words and patterns. group the cards into two sets and explain the rule they used. Then, sort the cards in a new way.
Sort Recognition: examiner sorts the cards, and the person has to figure out the rule used.

A

measures concept formation and planning. The person looks at a page with 30 pictures of objects and tries to figure out the target item by asking the fewest yes/no questions.
