Define a Knockout.
If you lose your out of the competition and if you win then your through to the next round where you will verse the winner of the other game.
Define a Round Robin event.
Where every player or team, verses everybody else.
Define what a Pool event is.
Similar to Round Robin where everyone plays everyone and the two people or teams with the most wins goes into the final series.
Define what a Carnival event it.
Commonly used for sports where there are a large number of individual events. e.g Swimming Carnival or Olympics.
Define a Seeded event.
The athletes are graded or ranked on their ability. better athletes have a higher ranking. The structure is used to form pools, round robins, or knockout tournaments.
Define an Expedition.
To organise an activity that will require an individual or group to participate in an activity or a series of activities that last several says or weeks. It is commonly used to organise outdoor education or adventure type experiences.
Define a Tabloid.
Allows a maximum participation in a series of activities. Competitors are grouped together usually by age (e.g 14yrs) then they move around a series of events as a group and participate in all events on offer.

How do you plan for an event?
Items need to be completed prior to the event commences, for example;
- delegate jobs
- organise venue
- seating
- transportation
- timings
- entertainment
- first aid
- plan for unexpected weather.
How do you manage an event?
Items need to be completed while the event is being held, for example;
- supervising
- equipment placement etc.
What do you do after the event?
Items needed to be seen at conclusion, for example;
- cleaning & packing up venue
- lost property
- follow up payments
- feedback & evaluation or event from staff.
