Found that a year after their hospital admission, they had fewer negative symptoms and better social functioning.
Less time in hospital compensates for the price of CBT and there was an estimated saving of £2704 average per patient.

A
CBT offers a way of alleviating distress with some if the more florid symptoms which is positive.
Effects are modest.
General finding is that CBT can improve both positive and negative symptoms.
Much lower drop out rates than drug therapy.
Just 12% in the randomised controlled trials.
All studies conducted on patients also receiving drugs.
