L AND C have most donations so its only fair cos they have the most public support

for- rep public and uphold effective democracy
3.deserve effective stable funding that would be delivered by the state
could be overseen by electoral commission matching small donations from public to make it democratic and not manipulated
State funding would also allow parties and politicians to focus more on representing the public
and government effectively, instead of spending time focusing on raising money, particularly
before elections.
Politicians often host fundraising dinners and events in order to try and raise money for their
party. This can be seen as a distraction from representing the public effectively.
Evaluate The View That The Funding Of Political Parties In The UK Should Be Reformed.
State funding would also prevent governments from passing laws that seek to limit the funding
of opposition political parties, as happened in the Trade Union Act 2016.
The act, passed by the Conservatives, harmed Labour Party funding from Trade Unions by
obliging new trade union members to choose whether they wanted to opt into making
payments towards political influence, rather than automatically being opted in as they were
previously.
Labour now intends to revoke the act after regaining power.
3.against - limited public funding available ensures parties are independent from the state
party in power independents from state
it would also cost the state a significant amount per year and many taxpayers likely
wouldn’t want to fund parties they don’t support, especially as they don’t trust politicians and
those in power, as is the case at present following Partygate.
