What is the goal of the ethics code
Provide specific standards to cover most situations encountered by psychologists. It’s goal: welfare and protection of the individuals and groups with whom psychologists work and the education of members, students, and the public.

What factors go into competence
Education, training, supervised experience, consultation, study, or professional experience.
Can you provide services in an area you are not competent in?
Yes if you have closely related prior experience or training, you can provide services to make sure services are not denied while you make a reasonable effort to obtain the competence required
