A

Hypersensitivity reaction that is most commonly triggered by infections

What are the clinical features?

A

Target lesions commonly seen on hands/feet first before spreading to the rest of body
Upper limbs more commonly affected than lower limbs
Can be mucosal involvement
Can get mild pruritis (erythema multiforme major)

What are the causes?

A

Viruses- HSV= most common
Bacterial- strep or mycoplasma infection
Drugs- allopurinol, carbmazepine, penicillin, sulfonamides
Sarcoidosis
SLE
Malignancy
