How to work out an equation when there is an unknown on both sides
A
Collect the like terms and inverse the equation
Simply both sides
If there are brackets multiply out of brackets first
If the equation is solved after the equal sign then you can inverse at the end.

When equations contain the same set of unknowns
4x+3y=100
6x+2y=100

How to work out simultaneous equations?
A
Multiply one equation until one of the unknowns are equal. Then find the difference between the unknowns which are not equal.
When signs are alternate add
When signs are same subtract .
