What is another way of separating the countries
Another way of separating the countries is by using high income, middle income and low income
What is HDI? (human development index)
A statistic that uses life expectancy, education, and income per capita.
Why is it hard to make conclusions about a country from figures?
A country varies a lot internally
What is GDP ?
The total of all goods represented in dollars
In Asia what came first social change or economic change?

Hundreds of millions got out of poverty
What is the relationship between GDP per capita and child mortality?
As GDP per capita increases the child mortality decreases
Why is Mauritius’ GDP per capita so far ahead of other African countries?
It was the first country to get away from trade barriers and could sell its exports for a good price and now gain lots of money from tourism.
