EP’s Flashcards
Land Without Delay:
A landing in which the primary consideration is continued control of the aircraft and survival of the occupants. It is meant to be more urgent than Land As Soon As Possible. The situation may not permit the aircrew to continue to maneuver the aircraft to a suitable landing area (e.g. open field)
Land as soon as Possible:
Landing at the nearest suitable landing area (e.g. open field) without delay. The primary consideration is to ensure the survival of the occupants.
Land as Soon as Practicable:
Landing at a suitable landing area. The primary consideration is the urgency of the emergency.
Emergency Shutdown:
Power Levers - OFF
APU - OFF (if applicable)
Rotor Brake switch - BRK
MSTR IGN - OFF once rotors have stopped
Emergency Exit and Entrance - Canopy Jettison
Helmet Visors - DOWN
Area around Helicopter - Clear of personnel
CANOPY JETTISON handle - operate (see caution 2)
If flares are ignited and lodged in the dispenser, jettison all flare munitions and ________________________
