Q

What does denaturing enzymes mean?

A

This is when the active sites of enzymes is altered by heating or blocked by poison. The enzyme wont then function and be denatured.

Q

What are the 8 features of enzymes?

A

1.All are proteins
2.All speed up chemical reactions
3.All are reaction specific
4. All are not used up in the reaction
5. Each enzyme work under specific conditions
6. They work by lowering the energy of reaction
7.they work on a locked key principle
8. Work in cofactors and coenzymes
