Objective of PNDSW
To prescribe the standards and procedures on drinking-water quality to protect public/consumer’s health
General guidelines of PNDSW
• Standards for drinking-water quality, water sampling and
examination and evaluation of results shall conform to the criteria
prescribed under this Order and its Manual of Operations.
• To ensure the safety of drinking-water, the standards shall be
applied in accordance to the improved framework for drinkingwater
safety comprising of three key components:
→ Health-based targets established by the health authority;
→ Safely managed water systems (application of water safety
plan; and
→ A system of independent surveillance

- Minimum parameters required to be tested for initial and periodic examinations.
