What is Genetically modified organisms (GMOs)?
Are living organisms whose genetic material (DNA) has been altered or modified in a way that does not occur naturally through mating or natural recombination.

A system where companies in the European Union buy and sell permits to emit greenhouse gases.

Is a safety approach that says if an action or policy might harm the public or the environment and if there is scientific uncertainty, in the face of potential risks, precautionary measures should be taken.

The commissions idea that you can have economical growth and environmental improvement via technology

Development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs

If a factory pollutes but doesn’t have to pay for the damage
What are some tools to stop emissions?
- Command and control measures (bans, limits, restrictions)
- Subsidies (for having renewable energy sources)
