What is diabetes insipidus?

A

hypopituitarism disorder in which ADG is not secreted from the posterior pituitary, results in kidney malfunction bc the nephron will not reabsorb water (leading to loss of water in the urine and Na+ concentration in the blood)

A

What is hyperosmolar hyperglycemia syndrome (HHS)

A

result of intracellular fluid escaping into the bloodstream in response to high glucose levels, intracellular K+ will follow and once treatment begins fluids (including K+) will leave the bloodstream producing hypolalemia.
