Pharmacology and presentation of Salbutamol?
A
5mg in 2.5ml or 2.5mg in 2.5ml
An adrenergic agonist, with primarily beta-2 receptor effects, causing bronchodilation.

Indicators of Salbutamol?
A
- Bronchospasm secondary to asthma or COPD
- Prominent bronchospasm secondary to airway burns, smoke inhalation or chest infection
- Release syndrome following crush injury (stimulation of B2 causes potassium to move into the cells, reducing the blood levels)

Contraindications of Salbutamol?
A
- Hypersensitivity

Cautions of Salbutamol?
A
- None

Side Effects of Salbutamol?
A
- Tremor
- Tachycardia

Dosing Regimes of Salbutamol?
A
- 5mg for both adults and children prn
- MDI, 10puffs to prime spacer then 1 puff per 6 slow breaths, 6 puffs at a time prn 20 minutely
