Indications:
S/S Respiratory Distress
Patient prescribed MDI
Actions:
Beta2 agonist relaxes bronchioles & dilates lower airway
5 Rs, shake vigorously for 30 sec
Side Effects:
Tachycardia Dry Mouth
Tremors/Shakiness Nausea/Vomiting
Aspirin
Blood thinner, used in possible MI
Contraindications:
Allergic to it
Any blooding clotting disorder
Actions in Body:
Anti-platelet effect
Dosage:
160-325 mg
Contraindications of Nitroglycerin
Patients systolic Bg is below 90
HR less than 50bpm or greater than 100bpm
Patient has suspected head injury
Infant or child
3 doses already taken
Patient is on erectile dysfunction meds. (Viagra,Cialis, Levitra)
Nitroglycerin
Used to treat cardiac patients
Actions:
Dilates blood vessels
Decreased workload of heart
Decreased oxygen demand
Side Effects: Headache Drop in BP Changes in pulse rate NORMAL DOSE: 1 tablet (.4mg)

Alert
Respond to VERBAL stimulus
Responds to PAINFUL stimulus
Unresponsive
Downtime (Related to Resuscitation)
From the time patient goes into arrest until CPR is being performed
Asystole
Absence of electrical activity & pumping action of the heart

Oxygen Oral Glucose Activated Charcoal Aspirin Patient Prescribed Medicines (metered-dose inhale, nitroglycerin, epinephrine)
