What are the categories of the JumpSTART Pediatric Multiple Casualty Incident Triage system?
Green = minor = able to walk
Yellow = Delayed = breathing with normal resp rate, palpable pulse and “A” or “V” on AVPU scale
Red = Immediate = spontaneous breathing, no palpable pulse, abnormal posturing or unresponsive
Black = expectant = unlikely to survive (give only palliative measures)
What is the difference between a single tiered and multitiered EMS system?
Single tiered = same resources go out for every call
Multitiered = ALS or BLS provider dispatched based on the situation and medical expertise needed
